My name is Miriam Shatto and I am a senior from Brown majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis and Social Policy Analysis. This is my third year with the Rice University Journal of Public Policy. My policy interests include climate policy, environmental justice, and extended producer responsibility programs. My name is Rohini Pillay and I am a junior at Duncan College triple majoring in History, French Studies and Art History with a minor in Politics, Law, and Social Thought. My policy interests include foreign policy and international relations with regional focuses on the Middle East and Latin America. Outside of RJPP, I am involved with Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative, Moody Fellows, and work at Rice Coffeehouse. I enjoy playing tennis, reading, visiting museums, and watching films in my free time.

My name is William Wang, and I am a senior at Will Rice studying Political Science and Managerial Economics with a minor in Politics, Law, and Social Thought. This is my third year involved with the RJPP. I am also involved with the Boniuk Institute, the Student Association, and the Pre-Law Society. In my free time, I enjoy watching hockey and watching TV shows.

My name is Mhyank Sekhar, and I am a sophomore at Brown College double majoring in Philosophy and Biosciences with a Minor in Medical Humanities. My policy interests center on health equity, public health policy, and bioethics with a particular focus on how structural factors - the social determinants of health - shape health disparities. Outside of the journal, I am involved in public health research at MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Rice Model United Nations, and the Rice-Baylor Patient Discharge Initiative. In my spare time, I enjoy following the Houston Astros, playing ping pong, and reading science fiction.

My name is Shraddha Bhatia and I am a senior at Wiess majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis, Political Science, and Transnational Asian Studies. This is my third year with the Rice University Journal of Public Policy. My main policy interests include U.S. immigration policy and foreign and economic policy specifically in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Outside of RJPP, I am a legal assistant and am involved with the Baker Institute Student Forum, BASYK dance club, and research on militant organizations. I enjoy coaching speech and debate and watching TV in my spare time.

Hi, my name is Sharon “Shay” Olaifa! I’m a senior at Martel studying Political Science and Social Policy Analysis, with a minor in Politics, Law, & Social Thought. I’m especially interested in healthcare policy and broader civil rights policy. Outside of RJPP, I’m involved with Rice’s Speech and Debate Team and serve as an ambassador for the Center for Civic Leadership. In my free time, I love designing and thrifting, reading, skating, and making playlists (lowkey practicing to DJ to stay sane while studying for the LSAT)!
